Location Fees for Digital Service Taxes (DST)
When you run ads through Adfound, some countries may add extra location-based fees to Meta ads. These fees are related to Digital Service Taxes (DST) and similar local charges that apply to ads displayed to people in specific countries.
These fees are not included in the campaign budget. Meta adds them after the ads are delivered, based on where the ads were shown.
Because of this, the final cost of an Adfound campaign may be higher than the campaign budget.

What Digital Service Taxes are
Digital Service Taxes are fees charged in some countries for digital services, including online advertising.
Meta applies these fees when your ads are delivered to people in countries where such charges apply. The fee depends on the location of the audience, not on the creator’s business location.
For example, if your campaign targets or reaches people in Austria, Meta may add an extra fee for the part of the ad delivery that happened in Austria.
How these fees affect Adfound campaigns
Meta location fees are added on top of the campaign spend.
This means that:
- The campaign budget covers the ad delivery.
- The location fee is added after the ads are delivered.
- The fee is not taken from the campaign budget.
- The total cost may be higher than the original campaign budget.
How Gamefound charges these fees
Gamefound charges creators for Meta location fees after the campaign ends.
If Meta applies location fees to your campaign and your ads were delivered in countries where these fees apply, Gamefound adds them to the fee invoice as a separate line item. This helps keep the campaign spend and additional Meta location fees clearly separated.
If Meta does not apply any location fees to your campaign, no additional line item appears on the invoice.
Location fees apply only to campaigns with fees. Draft campaigns are excluded.
Countries where Meta location fees apply
Meta may apply location fees to ads delivered to people in selected countries.
The list of countries and rates may change over time if Meta updates its location fee rules or if more countries introduce Digital Service Taxes or similar charges.
To check where Meta currently applies location fees, see Meta’s About location fees for ads on Meta platforms.
Why the final invoice may be higher than the campaign budget
Your campaign budget does not include Meta location fees.
If your ads are delivered in a country where Meta applies a location fee, that fee is added after delivery. As a result, the amount on the final invoice may be higher than the campaign budget.
The additional fee appears on the invoice as a separate item, so you can see which part of the cost comes from Meta location fees.
