What Adfound is
Adfound is a marketing tool that helps you run ads for your project on Meta platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram. Adfound uses Gamefound ad accounts, so you can start without creating your own Meta account.
We plan to add Reddit and Google ads in the future.
What you can use Adfound for
You can promote a project in different phases. This table shows the common goals and how Adfound charges commission.
How Adfound charges and bills you
Adfound charges a 5 percent fee based on total marketing revenue for campaigns that promote a Crowdfunding project or Late Pledge / Pledge Manager. Campaigns in the Upcoming phase have no commission.
After the campaign ends, Gamefound sends an invoice that includes the commission.
Table 1. Commissions and goals by phase
| Project phase | Main goal | Commission |
|---|---|---|
| Upcoming | Gain followers | No commission |
| Crowdfunding | Gain backers | 5 percent of total marketing revenue |
| Late Pledge / Pledge Manager | Promote Late Pledge / Pledge Manager offers | 5 percent of total marketing revenue |
You can track spend and commission in the Adfound dashboard. The dashboard syncs data periodically, so numbers can refresh with a delay.
How Adfound optimizes your ads
Adfound optimizes your campaigns based on performance data. It shifts delivery toward the ads that bring better results, so your budget goes to what performs best.
How much control you have
You control the setup of your marketing:
- Campaign dates
- Campaign budget
- Ads and assets
- Ad activity
You can pause and reactivate ads in the campaign at any moment until it’s completed. Once your campaign reaches the completed stage, every ad associated with the campaign pauses.
Adfound handles optimization during the campaign:
- Audience targeting based on your project details and performance patterns from similar projects
- Delivery optimization based on performance data
You can still provide the locations you want to target or avoid when you create the campaign.
Run marketing with Adfound
Use Adfound to promote your project in one of these phases:
- Upcoming: gain followers
- Crowdfunding: gain backers
- Late Pledge / Pledge Manager: promote late pledges and Accessories
Before you start
You need access to the Adfound dashboard.
Note: Only users with Project Admin, Owner, or Marketer roles can open it.
Step 1. Open the Adfound dashboard
- Open the project you want to promote.
- Go to the Adfound tab.
This opens the Adfound dashboard for that project.
Note: Only Project Admin, Owner, and Marketer user roles can access it.
Step 2. Create a marketing campaign
A campaign is the container for your ads, budget, and schedule.
When you create a campaign, provide:
- Campaign type: Upcoming, Crowdfunding, or Late Pledge / Pledge Manager
- Start date and end date
- Budget
- Targeting
- Currency your campaign is going to use
Adfound also shows a recommended budget based on your project details. The recommendation aims to support strong ad performance.
You don’t need to set up audience targeting by yourself. Adfound handles targeting based on your project details and performance patterns from similar projects.
You can create multiple campaigns for one project, for example when you need separate budgets, currencies, or ads. However, we recommend creating one campaign per project phase and extending it when you need more time.
You can extend Upcoming and Late Pledge / Pledge Manager campaigns for up to 90 days.
Step 3. Create an ad and add assets
Inside your campaign, create at least one ad.
For each ad:
- Upload your assets, such as images, videos, and text.
- Set how long the ad runs. The ad can’t run longer than the campaign itself.
Adfound uses your assets to generate ads in multiple formats. More high-quality assets usually give better results.
Asset review
The Adfound marketing team reviews assets before it submits them to Meta. If something needs changes, Adfound notifies you in the system and by email.
Review can take up to 72 hours, so upload assets early if you want your campaign to start on a specific date.
Step 4. Add funds
To run ads, add funds to your campaign budget.
Good practice: Add enough funds to cover the first few days after you create the campaign and before it starts.
If the campaign runs out of funds, ads pause automatically. You can top up at any time, except for completed campaigns.
Fees and what your funds cover
All funds you add go toward ad spend. Adfound fees are based on total marketing revenue, and Gamefound sends an invoice after the campaign ends.
Note: Campaigns that promote an Upcoming project are commission-free.
Step 5. Activate your campaign
A campaign goes live when you activate at least one ad.
You can activate the ad when you have:
- Approved assets
- Funds available
You can pause an ad at any time. You can also reactivate it if:
- The campaign dates still allow it
- The campaign has funds available
Ads stop automatically on the campaign end date.
