Defining Locations and Shipping Zones

Shipping zones define the geographic areas where your shipping models are available.

They are the next required step after you create your models.

Go to Project Settings > Shipping and Taxes to find two connected tabs Locations and Shipping zones.

In this section you will find information about:

Locations and Country Management

Locations Tab

Use the Locations tab to check which countries or areas belong to each zone.

You can see if a country is enabled or disabled and you can review the tax rate that applies. To learn more about tax rates details, go to {Tax Handling on Gamefound.}.

Locations are preset based on continents.

Disabling Countries

You can disable any country you don't want to ship to.

Creators can make a zone called no shipping, add all excluded countries to it, and turn that zone off in each model.

Sublocations

Sublocations are the states and provinces in the United States and Canada.

You can treat each of them separately when taxes or availability differ.

You can:

  • choose which states, provinces, or APO or FPO addresses you ship to
  • assign custom tax rates
  • enable Zone Override to separate a specific state from the main United States location and apply different shipping fees

Creating and Assigning Custom Zones

Create a zone

Select Shipping zones and choose Add shipping zone.

This is also where you set up zones for shipping by weight.

Naming Convention

Names and descriptions are internal only.

Backers don't see zone names at checkout.

Assign countries

  • Return to Locations.
  • Select the countries you want to move by checking the boxes.
  • Select Set shipping zone and choose the zone that these countries belong to.
